Can my NH TC24DA run a KKII 60\" tiller?

I currently have a CCM 42"-48" tiller that I would like to get rid of so I can go with a bigger tiller. Although I am happy with the CCM it's really smaller than I really wanted. I looked at the King Kutters today and I like the 60" model. I was wondering if my tractor can handle it?

The NH site lists a 52" tiller as the max for a TC26DA, so I'd say a 60" tiller would be a little big for your tractor.

I'm not shure what your PTO hp is but my 1900 has 26 pto hp and it needs all of it for my 60" KK in heavy black dirt. The KK also weights 690# . If it wasn't for the weight of fel I dont think I could steer with the tiller up. The KK flyer recomends 25-40 hp for the 60". If you can go slow enough it might work for you, but would hate to see you spend $1300 on something that might not work as well as what you already have.

Re: Can my NH TC24DA run a KKII 60\" tiller?

I have a KK 60" tiller. I ran it several years tilling a one acre garden, it was slow going, but I got the job done. This is on a NH1630 with a pto hp of 24. I also tilled a 40 acre garden the first year. Not again.

The next year I purchased a Kubota 4630 and cut my tilling time by close to 40%. This last fall I purchased a 72" KK tiller and hope to cut another 5 to 10% of last years time.

As far as the sixty inch tiller on your tractor, I do not think that your tractor can handle it unless you have very sandy soil. Either that or get a bigger tractor. Sorry but you are getting some very honest opinions here.

Don't be sorry about anything, honest opinions are what I'm looking for. Thanks guys for the input, I guess I'll look for something a little smaller, yet bigger than the 42" I have now.

Look at the CR60, 60" tiller. Your tractor will handle that tiller easy. Give us a call and we will work a trade. Check your PM

Re: Can my NH TC24DA run a KKII 60\" tiller?

MegaMe, My thoughts are 52" for that size tractor, I used a borrowed 52" on my MF1433 and it has 27PTO hp and it worked well with the tractor and suprisingly enough it also covered my tracks @ 60" ...

New Holland recommendation /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

EDIT: If you go with a 60" I would take a row of tines off... They could be used for spares... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
