Anybody using the Kioti 6 foot RFM? I am looking to buy and am considering this one to match my CK30. I had thought that I wanted the side discharge to blow the leaves along a tree line, but the rear discharge would allow me to go in any direction. (KIOTI is rear discharge only) I'm open to any good brand and I want it to last. I have two open areas to cut that total about 5 -6 acres. Thanks

I have one...I only used it twice last fall before the snow came. Give me another week or so and I'll have more experience with it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The Kioti finish mower is manufactured by Sicma out of Italy. Sicma also manufactures this same mower for several other distributors under different names. This is a good mower for the money. One major difference between our mowers and this mower is the internals of the gearbox. We use spiral cut gears in our gearboxes while the Kioti uses square cut gears. The spiral gears run cooler, quieter, and require less hp. Also, since our RPM off the gearbox is higher, we are able to use larger pulleys, which extends belt life. You can check them out here-

Yeah those Befco finishing mowers are nice. I wouldn't hesitate buying a Kioti brand however, there are better mowers on the market for just a few hundred more (BushHog, Woods, Befco, etc.). One big thing to consider when purchasing a finishing mower is if the gear box has to be removed to change the belt and/or belts. On the lower lines like KK you have to remove the gear box and in my opinion it is a pain in the you know what!

I recently got a First choice rear finish mower.
Appears to be a very nice well built unit.
Priced several differant brands, and felt I got the most mower for the $$ with First Choice.
My opinion

My previous mower was a King Kutter.
Don't recall having to remove a gearbox to change out the belt..
I removed 2 bolts and the gearbox would hinge up out of the way. Personally I felt it was fast and easy to change the belt on the KK..
