I'd like to hear more from you guys that have purchased the Taylor/Way Hoes. I have an older Kelly which is a great unit but 8Ft. unit an is a bit much for my JD 870 (28 H.P.) tractor. Just afraid to sell what I know is a great unit for something thats not and regret it later. Really concerned about available replacement parts for cylinders, pump ETC. Any help or comments from owers whould be greatly appreciated. Bernie

I just bought a Model 766. Since I only have few hours on it, I can't really comment on overall quality. I can say that my initial impression is positive.

I'm interested in your 8ft. hoe when you get a smaller one. I have a JD1050,I think it will be OK on.

I think this is a really good reason to get a bigger tractor. Keep the hoe and upgrade the tractor.

Sorry for not replying any sooner but haven't been on this site in a while...been RV'ing, fishing and riding the Harley. I've used my Taylor Ways backhoe on several projects here at the house and have trailered the tractor to my nephew's house to dig footings for his retaining wall. The only concern I had was the "jerkiness" so I call Taylor Tech Dept to ask if there's a hydraulic control valve. I was told there wasn't one but to replace the Hydraulic fluid with 40 wt motor oil. Other than than, I'm quite pleased with this backhoe. I have yet fabricated a subframe, but plan to this spring.
BTW I called several places for a 12" bucket for the backhoe but was told that it had to be an aftermarket bucket. I did find an outfit that builds custom buckets so I ordered and have received a 12" wide bucket. But I have yet mounted it or used it.

I'm very impressed with mine. It has done everything that I have asked. I did build the subframe because the 3pt setup is very week.

I only wish it was larger and had a longer reach.

I have never seen a Taylor-Way, but I have heard good
things about them and, like my Prairie Dog 7.5,
they are very competitively priced. I don't know of any
dealer out west carrying them. The quotation of
$4300....is that for the 6.5' hoe or a bigger one?

Is the Prairie Dog from Grand Blanc Tractor Sales ? I just sent them an e-mail.

They are only 300 miles south of me so I can go pick it up.

Do you know if the $4195 price include a sub-frame? It suggests "3 point hitch attachment FREE with every backhoe purchase". Also, do you know how much the PTO pump is?

It sure looks like 3pt only. You could make or adapt a subframe. I downloaded the brochure which states pto pump & tank $495.00 with backhoe purchase.
