I purchased a 766 backhoe last aug. I got 6 hours digging before the pin to
the outreach boom sheared off.I replaced the pin and 4 hours later the pin broke again and bent the outreach boom beyond repair.Taylor sent me a replacement backhoe, worn out piece of crap. This backhoe first ripped the cylinders out underneath (the l and r movement cyl). This was repaired and 6 hours later the boom ripped into 2 pieces only to be held on by the hyd. hoses. At this time a represenative came out to inspect the backhoe. He stated that "they get rogue backhoes every once in awhile".He agreed to replace the backhoe with a new one, like i had purchased.Well,it wasnt a new backhoe that was delivered. And to top it off, when i was hooking up the backhoe,it didn't work. There was no pressure to the left and right swing.I finally decided enough is enough.I had this backhoe for 9 months and havent put 20 hours on it.They decided to refund my money,it has been 1 month since they picked up the backhoe, and i have yet to see any money. My personal opinion is the backhoe is crap and so is taylor way with their cust. service.

Wow..sounds like Taylor Way tried to help you every step of the way! One month wait, and your already trying to destroy a company's reputation. Your first post and it's a flame job.

I loved mine, it was a great little inexpensive hoe and worth the price. Too bad your backhoe wasn't as good as mine (and many other happy owners) but come on now..sour grapes after all the positive customer service you got..scheez.. (not a new hoe replacement, I don't know what to think of that claim..any pictures? no? )

Holy crap, that's terrible. I'd be bent if they tried to replace mine with a used one under warranty. 3 separate backhoe failures. I hope you get your money back. My only complaint is that a few of the zerks are in bad spots and the foam seat material should have some type of covering.

If you could of seen the replacement(the first one) backhoe they gave me,i think you would of been disappointed too.And then to have that one break twice. And then be told you were going to get a new replacement to only have this one not even work off of the delivery truck......how would you feel?

I just bought a 2002 766 and couldn't be happier with it.

It at least outweighs the others that I looked at.

Buy used that way the first person gets the kinks out.

I know this thread is 8 months old but thought I'd post anyway.

I bought mine a couple of years ago but have only used it about 8 hours. My property is more river rocks than dirt so when using it, I dig a little at a time, breaking up the area then a heaping bucket full to remove. IMO it's a great little unit and very affordable. Here's a pic of the area that I previous dug out for my boat's parking space and just finished widening it for extra parking.

I've given mine a huge task. Our old 30+ X 70+ dairy barn has been demolished and burned. What's left is the stone foundation (which runs through various areas) and the cement floor. I've been trying to basically bury everything about 4' by starting with a hole, moving debris into it, digging a deeper hole where that debris was and moving more debris in... over and over and over and over.

Way too big a task for such a little backhoe. But, since I'm about 1/2 done, I'm not going to stop now.:D (Well, after the spring thaw anyway.)

the reason they are so cheap is so you;ll have some money to fix your tractor after you blowout the 3 point hitch from the stress.

I'm looking to purchase one of these if the price is right. Live in Bloomington IL area.
