I am getting ready this weekend to use my new PHD and was setting it up on my tractor this afternoon. I used the top, top-link hole and can not get enough lift to attach the auger even when adjusting the A-frame to different settings.

If I put the boom pole in the bottom hole of the top link I should get more lift height, correct?

I know this is a dumb question but this is my first PHD for the tractor; always used the two man PHD and looking forward to boring about 20 corner post and gate holes this weekend.

Also, tractor is a L3130 Kubota.

Thanks,
David

I just went thru the same issue last weekend. You're right, move the boom lower to get more leverage higher. In my case, though, the augur still dragged on the ground a bit, but it was still functional.

I am going to try moving it tomorrow afternoon and see how much height I get. I want to test it out at home before I drive 30 miles to a second farm we have this weekend. Thought it would be better to work the kinks out now and save a little time this weekend.
Planning on putting up 1000' of fence and two gates to fence in around old home place and outbuildings. Putting in 20 wood post and driving about 96 eight foot T-post. Hope to get this done in two days.
