I'm hoping you all can help me out. I have a Cub 7275 27 HP compact that I want to hook a splitter to. I have a auxilliary rear outlet that would seem to be setup for a raise, lower, float and neutral operation. I'm looking at getting a Huskee splitter from TSC that has its own control valve. How do I position the control on the tractor to make this work? Or should I just bypass the valve on the splitter, and use the tractor control?

Thanks for any advice you want to share!!

The simplest and easiest way it to just use a bungee cord or rope to hold the handle for your rear remote up or down.

Your tractor probably wants OC valving.. what is the splitter spool?

Ray,

I'll try not to mess this up but many others here have done that setup. Leave the control valve on the splitter and use that as it has the return detent. Connect to your remote and bungee or tie the remote valve lever off in one direction. make sure the out on the remote is the in on the splitter valve. Keep in mind that if you pull the remote lever the opposite direction, you just reversed the flow. I imagine you need the valve on the splitter to be open center so the fluid from the remote can flow past when the splitter valve is not being used, but I think they typically are anyhow. Otherwise, you'll be pushing the oil past the relief in the remote and heating it up. I want to say they call that deadheading the circuit??

Others will advise if I'm wrong. I'm not the expert, so if I got it right, they taught me well, and if I didn't, they need to go back to work. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup, you got it right. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Log splitters use an open-center valve.

I have one, but my tractors have an OC remote so all is well.
However I believe the bungee thing should work fine.

Thanks a lot guys!!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
My remote outlet control is not self centering, you have to push the lever where you want it to go, and it stays. I don't think it cares about the hose hookup either, as the book says if the cylinder operates backwards, reverse the hoses. According to my books, I should have about 2100 psi @ 7.3 GPM for the splitter. It may not be fast, but I think it should work.

Thanks again!!
