Anyone in my shape? It didn’t seem like I had all that many attachments until I had to get them all out of winter storage.

I really need a shed!

"Too much stuff"

No Way. If it is usable, which it all appears to be, then it's OK.

I'm still in the accumulation phase. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Seems like we spend all our time getting stuff so we have to do less work but work longer to get more stuff to do less work and when it's all over and done we leave it all behind.

There are times I wish for a few simple items necessary to survive, the time to enjoy good books, good music and try and learn about what is happening on the otherside of the hill.

egon, you bring up a very good point.... sometimes the work a guy/girl does to make things easier, so they can enjoy life, takes all the enjoyment out of thier life.... somedays i think it would be nice to live back in the woods, in a log cabin, and live off the land......... but i'm afraid a guy would starve around here now /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Let me go out on a limb here and speak on behalf of a few thousand registered members and lurkers. We are envoius!!!! Not only do you have a big tractor, a 40' utility trailer, scads of attachments all painted that beautiful green color, but you have a truck painted JD yellow. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hint: Go buy a couple cans of green spray paint and take care of that one item that appears to be KK dark yellow.

Egon you are absolutely right. I totally agree. For about five years now I've been selling or giving away anything I have that I don't consider essential to what I want to accomplish. I have assembled a collection of tools that make life easier. I spend less time on maintanence and repair at get my "chores" done sooner. Life is better but I had to change my thinking on what my priorities should be. The family is better off as well.

I think you're right, Egon. I used to think the more tools I had, the better. But you know I bought a little Toro ZTR a couple of years ago and knew it was overkill at the time, but it is fast and easy. Then when we moved to this place, I bought a little 4 x 8 trailer with the fold down gate on the back that I can drive the mower onto. Of course the trailer was handy for moving and since then I've hauled the ZTR to my daughter's place one time, and I recently hauled a very light, but bulky load of stuff about a hundred miles for a brother-in-law and that's the only time the trailer has been used. Then I recently bought a Craftsman dethatcher and an Agri-Fab lawn sweeper to tow behind the ZTR. Now we're living in a house on a 70' x 130' lot and I've got about $4,200 invested in the ZTR, trailer, dethatcher, and lawn sweeper. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I just told my wife a couple of days ago that I thought if someone would give me about $2,700 for the whole shootin' match, I'd sell it and go back to a walk behind self propelled rear bagger lawnmower.

Part of the problem with all this stuff is that the trailer isn't mine! A friend stores it at my place so it is out of his way and he allows me to use it. He did offer to sell it to me, but I told him I didn't see why I should pay for something I can use for free /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Anyway, while it’s always nice to have the right tool/implement for the job...one still needs the time to use them. I enjoy helping others and getting things done for myself. Trouble is, my days are too short, only 24 hours!

I have said many times I’d like to live 200 years ago. A log cabin, dog, horse, rifle and a life of subsistence. Maybe even a wife, but that’s optional!
