I've been shopping, and I know everyone says landpride and befco mowers are the best thing with blades, but just how much difference is there from those to the King Kutters? In Iowa it saves about $600 to buy the KK vs. any of the nicer units. Just mowing house yard, less than 1 acre, looking at 72" mower. Thanks

I have the 5' KK finish mower and it does a good job. What I don't like about it is that it discharges on the left side. I have never seen a mower discharge on the left and it's a pain in the butt to look and judge backwards from every other mower or tractor I have ever used! I even called KK and ask if the chute could be switched because it bolts on and there is a plate on the other side. They said NO! I also ask why the left side when everyone else goes right? They said "that's how we always done'um".

I've been very happy with my 6' KK finish mower for ~8yrs now. KK has been very good at getting replacement parts quickly. TSC also stocks most of the parts. Last yr I saw some KK with rear discharge, mine is the side discharge. It does clog in tall wet grass, but probably most side discharge will do that under the same circumstance.

I'm definitley going rear discharge, and I think my agco st34a with 28 pto hp should be plenty for a 72" finish mower.

Only mowing an acre you could go smaller to. Which translates to more seat time!! I mow a little over an acre with a Woods 5' fm. Maybe an hour and I'm not in a big hurry. I think only second gear last weekend.

I'd go smaller to save a $100, but my back tires are about 64" wide, r-4's, so I'm gonna go a little wider to get closer to fences/buildings etc.

I have the 72" KK finish mower rear discharge and have about 10 hours on it. I really like the rear discharge and the cut has been smooth. In fact the mower appears to handle things pretty well. Sitting at 4" the mower has perfromed well in 10-6" field and lawn.
