I found out that the top and tilt kit from CCM is not available. He says he will be out to the middle of the summer. Is there any other source for cylinders with check valves? Thanks Danny

Not in the USA.

You can cobble something together but the parts will not match and will not have the correct specifications to make it work correctly. It will also be significantly more expensive.

As many have said here in the past, the wait for the correct components is worth it. This has been discussed many times here in the past.

As an alternative, if you are purchasing a stand alone aux valve I would suggest you get the Prince SV valve and purchase spools that have the pilot check valves built in. There are several advantages and disadvantages of going this route but it will work. Just remember when purchasing that load checks are NOT the same as pilot operated checks. You want a spool that has pilot operated checks.

try surpluscenter.com also check ebay.com

Neither of those places sell valves with double pilot operated check valves. You might occasionally see one (usually a CCM or Integrated Engineering cylinder) on eBay but they are a rarity.

You cannot buy the check valve with the correct specifications here in the USA. You can buy cylinders but no check valves.

MadRef is right, they do not exist in the USA in the correct specs.

In fact, if you break yours, you are in trouble, I've had my TNT system in the largest hydraulic shop in the area since early winter trying to get the double piloted check valve repaired or replaced. They cannot find anything that will work. So basically I'm screwed as far as getting it to work. They have offered to bypass the check valve, but that would leave me with cylinder drift, which is not desireable on a top link. I may have to live with that as tractor season is upon us and I've been using the manual top link but after being used to the hydraulic top link, going back to manual is a huge PITA! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yep, I had a similar conversation with Mark a day or two ago.
I'm more than a LITTLE bit curious as to WHY these parts aren't available in the US. I find it hard to believe that the Safety Nannies have got them banned and I don't know enough about politics to even GUESS which Congress dude would have an interest in keeping them out. Maybe we need to search a different industry, hydraulics are used in SO MANY areas I (almost) can't believe they're not a common part on some thing(s).

Bob, I don't remember for sure, but assume you have the C&C cylinders with the pilot-operated check valves built onto them?

Your current experience could tip the scale in favor of the Prince control valve with built in PO check valves, at least in my mind. I used the prince control valve with PO checks, but saw no real advantage of doing so, over the C&C setup, aside from the fact that it would allow me to use cylinders that fit my tractor's size requirements better.

The advantage of having the PO check valves on the cylinder in my mind was that the cylinder would still hold position if a hose burst. A second perhaps minor advantage might be that it would be easier to pop hoses of the quick disconnects, as the hoses can remain pressurized when the check valves are in the control valve.

Anyway, if PO check valves like are used on the C&C cylinders are not available in the US, to replace failed units on C&C cylinders, then I am happy I went with the Prince valve section(s) that have them incorporated in them. If I have a problem, I will be able source a replacement part for the Prince control valve here in the US.

At any rate, I have been satisfied with the Prince control valve with built in PO check valves. If anyone wants to go that route I would expect the net result will be the same as going with PO checks mounted on the cylinders.

Now if the application were different, like a cylinder holding up a man lift, which might drop quickly if a hose burst, I would feel differently. But for use on the 3PH of a tractor, either would satisfy me fine...at least until I needed a spare part to keep my unit(s) functional! Then the ONLY one that would suit me is the one that had spares available for it! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Henro . . . be happy with what you have. I hate having things that you can't get fixed!
