Grapple Grapple Rake

I,m looking for a Grapple rake for my Kubota LA681 lift. Anyone using one and care to comment? What type are you using? Any likes, dislikes? I found this grapple rake web site and the Favor 607 looks good.

The Favor 607 looks like a robust attachment. It weighs 750 lbs. This will take 500 lbs of load capacity away from your loader.

Have you had a chance to check on price and its ability to fit your loader? Site shows it attached to a Skid Steer Loader.

Hi Jim,
The grapple forks, rakes and buckets are wonderful attachments that can increase clean up productivity several hundred times.
The grapple forks, rakes and buckets will, indeed lessen your loader's lift pounds wise just as a 4n1 bucket does.
Be very careful to compare the weights ... this is one of the situations where HEAVIER can be a serious disadvantage. You have a limited amount of loader lift capacity to work with.

Sometimes customers will opt for an add-on bucket grapple kit and tooth bar to lessen this impact payload cap.

We have sold 20 or 30 grapple buckets/rakes. Most have been installed on skid steer loaders for hurricane limbs/trees clean up work.

I suggest:
1. Rear wheel weights, ballast in rear tires and a heavy implement or weight box on the three point hitch for safe operation.
2. Quick disconnect hydraulics...
3. NOT quick attach system ... it will take another big payload hit from the loader
4. Operation valve with lever -- not electric button.

5. Never FAST FORWARD SLAM dump the attachment as we all do with std. buckets at times.
The extra weight and momentum of the heavy attachment will cause expensive breakage of the loader bucket cylinders.

6. Grease the loader bucket pins daily
7. R4 tires
8. A very HD Grill Guard
9. If working in the dark ... canopy or ROPS mounted front work lights.

I would like to know how the bolt on grapple works, how much it weighs and how powerful it is? Will it pull clearing debris into the bucket?

Ron, I was quoted $2800.00 for the Favor 607. And yes it will fit my lift. I was told that if I gave them the specs on the lift they could make one to fit.

Attached is a picture of my grapple. I have found it invaluable. I constantly use it to move large rocks, and brush piles. It has the quick attach system like skid steers. I can change to the normal bucket in about 3 minutes. My grapple is a Bradco, and my FEL is a Woods 1016. I think the attachement is pretty big, sorry for the inconvenience.

Brent, thanks for the image. what is the weight of the grapple rake? And if you don't mind me asking what was the price?
Have you used it to pick up any logs? This would be one of the things I would be using it for most for.

The grapple is pretty heavy, but the Woods FEL lifts more the the stock FEL. I normally use it to grab a pile of cedar. I also use it to move large rocks. The weight is 740lbs. That gives me around 800 lbs of lift with my Woods 1016 FEL. I have no problem lifting the back wheel off the ground on my L3710, and it has a 400 lbs box blade. It's really useful for me since my 40 acres is covered with cedars and rocks. Now the painful part. I think it was around $1800. But for me, it has more than paid for itself, because with my wife and three small kids, I don't have any helping hands to rig loads to my FEL. So, I just scoop under and clamp, or tilt it all the forward and "pick" up the load. I only take it off when I'm doing dirt work. Don't forget that you'll need a circuit of hydro up to the front. My dealer did that by installing a 3 way power beyond valve past the FEL controls. So, I also added top-n-tilt for my blade since it was there. So, I spent a little more than I planned up front. And I am very glad I did. Sorry for the long windedness
