Input Requested -- PTO Driven Hydraulics

Hi Riddler,

I'm in the prototype phase, but should be done in a few weeks.
I've decide to mount the Hyd 2-stage pump onto a skid plate & plumb a holding tank, under the belly of the tractor, which will also act as counterweight. With the pulley, I've could run the full flow at 2000RPM of the PTO. When not in use, release the tensionner & belts & remove the mid PTO.

My two cents...

I too am looking to run a skidsteer attachment on our big 100 hp Kubota FEL. It is a rock crusher bucket (MB Crushers). It needs 26gpm and the tractor puts out 21. Is it possible to piggyback a PTO pump to supplement the tractor's flow vs. a stand-alone 3pt power pack? If so how would one plumb it in?

Possible? Yes. Practical, no.

Just run a straight PTO pump with its own tank & cooling. Make sure the pump can handle the pressure & GPM at 540 or 1000 PTO RPM. It will be cheaper & more efficient that way. Not to mention much less of an engineering problem.

No need to "invent" anything, pto powered hi-flo hydraulics are sold by more than one company already...

For one, just look at the sno-blowers sold for the front of tractors that are hydraulic powered, that's how they are powered.
