Sickle mowers are very dangerous when dogs are around. They don't understand why the grass is "just falling down" and RUN over to investigate. The results are very unpleasant.

In all the cases I know of, sickle bar cutter bars aren't much over a couple hundred pounds MAX. I've seen little IH Cubs with sickle bars hanging off of them. I doubt they'll make any tractor too tippy.

I think they are called Boom Mowers. We have a Used one that takes 6 hydrauilc lines to run (or use a switcher valve and 4 lines) for $2000--Ken Sweet

As another option, take a look on Bush Hogs site at the SM60 ditch and bank cutter. I doub't it's cheap, but a lot less involved than some bank mowers.
