Someone here posted a photo of where they had mounted an ammo/tool box to their quick hitch. I can't for the life of me find the thread that contained that post. If anyone finds it, please advise.

I currently have a couple of the .30 cal. ammo boxes mounted on the fenders, but I keep hitting my elbows on them. I just ordered a quick hitch from Harbor Freight and plan to move the boxes back there when it arrives.

Thanks,

BR

I was impressed with that mod, and downloaded the pic to show some connector points where I replaced the hitch pins with ¼" bolts with locknuts).
Here is the one I think you are searching for.

That's it. Thanks. Kudos to the original poster.

I'm wondering how stable/tough the attachment is. Those ammo boxes are pretty well made, but the metal isn't very thick. At $7.00 each at the surplus store, I guess it wouldn't be a big deal to replace them every two or three years if they don't hold up.

A metal backing plate fitted inside the ammo box is how I plan to hang mine, then the load will at least be distributed on the side of the box, not just where the u-bolts poke through.
I thought about one mounted on each side, but after hooking up the PTO on my rotary cutter yesterday, decided I won't take up that space with a second box.
