I know some of you guys had purchased some canopies from that fly by night guy on here and never recieved them. Did you ever get your canopy or what happened?

Since the post died off a while back, most people have written that chapter off to experience. That guy has drifted off into the darkness and some of our friends were swindled!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

I was really hoping that the guy had at least made good on the ones that the guys ordered. That is just too bad. I really hate to see people get swindled like that, especially on this great site.

Sometimes things are best left unsaid..... except to express some sympathy to those who got screwed!!!

That's a real shame, to have someone take advantage of a fellow TBNer. Richard, the local dealer sells canopies that I think are made by Westendorf. They look good but are expensive.

Hi Grant,
Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll be needing one for the 4600 and the new 4020 has a cab so when it's cold or hot you know which tractor I'll be in. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I almost bought one from the guy. We had exchanged several emails regarding how the canopies were constructed, pricing and shipping. Sounded like he really knew what he was doing.
I don't have any details but it's easy to assume that he screwed some people. What if something out of his control happened? What if someone close to him like his wife, child or parents got ill or in an accident or worse? Maybe he's in the hospital with cancer or in a coma from a car accident? What would you do? Selling canopies would be insignificant to these issues. However you would think no matter what happened that somehow you'd hear from someone.

Rich,
This guy had his brother and another person send me emails and pictures. Even if he had problems there were plenty of other people in the mix to have come through.

I had watched this guy peddling his stuff as a new TBN'er and never felt like he was going to rip anyone off, but that's the way these guy's work. Has this been confirmed? I noticed that Gempler's has a similar product but I don't recall the price. I've done some trading on EBay and I haven't been screwed yet. In fact, I bought my tractor from a guy in TX. on EBay, sent him a deposit of $2K and he drove it on up to Northern CA. I paid him for that as well) and when I checked out the 1920, gave him a cashiers check for the balance and bought the trailer he brought it up on for a song and a dance. I know EBay has a kind of escrow account where you can park your money, and they release after you get your goods. At some point, trust does become an issue and I get the feeling that just about everyone contributing on TBN are genuine good people. This will just make me more cautious.

Rich,
I like your attitude./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I had an aunt that always found something nice to say about even the most unpleasent people and look for good instead of bad. Who the heck knows what Bernie's problem is.
