I was doing some window shopping at my local NH dealer last week. In the conversation, I mentioned how tired I was of picking rocks from new food plots. He showed me a "rock bucket" for FEL that had a slotted construction to pick up rocks and release dirt. Looked like a godsend for those of us whose mountain soil grows rocks up to football size. Anyone with experience with these attachments??

I just did a TBN quick search on "rock bucket" and got at least 9 pages of threads...
I do know that the subject has been well covered before on TBN. Folks with them seem to like them very much. Wish I had one... it's on my wish list

I DID A ROCK BUCKET SEARCH AS SUGGESTED. CAME UP WITH 11 PAGES OF DISCUSSIONS ABOUT ROCK GRAPPLES, ROCK THUMBS, ETC., NOT MUCH ON ROCK BUCKETS. MAYBE I DID THE SEARCH WRONG. ONE COMPANY MAKES A "ROCK FORK" WHICH IS SORT OF WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR, BUT NO COMMENTS ON HOW WELL THEY WORK PROVIDED ON THE MANUFACTURER'S SITE. I WAS LOOKING FOR SOME DIRECTION SPECIFICALLY ON HOW WELL THEY WORK AND BEST SOURCE TO BUY ROCK BUCKETS. THANKS

Rock buckets are made STOUT and they are HEAVY.
In the thread I posted you can see what I bought. It is too dang heavy and I will be selling it after trying one more time with more ballast.
All rock bucket designs I have seen are designed for pretty big rocks. Not the softball sized ones for sure.

I got this one, the 75" wide with the 2" spacing. Works good for picking up firewood too. And because you can see through the tines to pick up stuff, it works like a regular set of forks too, for picking up logs and such. I stuck a couple of pipes on the tops of two of the outer tines so the logs can't roll back off the back of the forks.

A friend of mine has a Houle rock rake and Bucket and is happy with them. He runs them on tractors around 100hp though.
