Point me to a website that shows a blade with gauge wheels. All the ones I find are simple blades that pivot and/or tilt. I can't weld, so don't suggest a DIY project

I do not weld either. A local shop installed the gauge wheels for me.

I just leveled 30 yards of #2 and 20 yards of fines. I actually used my bucket for all the grooming. I curled the bucket up, put her in float and kept back dragging. Came out very nice at least I think...More pics on my web page.....

I use a box for all the driveways I put in. Move the rock where you want it and then put the box in float tilted way back to put he finnish on it. Just redid mine a few weeks back the same way when I have 8 tons of left over rock from another job.

I've also got a crusher run driveway over here by Raleigh and I touch it up every once in a while with a box blade. I've done several others for friends too.
Now I find out that my driveway has to be concrete so I'm going to blade the crusher run out and drop the culvert so the drive will be level with the ground.
Best part is that the developer has to foot the cost of the new driveway since they didn't get the right permit last year. I needed to get another load of CR but now I'll have more than enough and that will save me a few bucks.
Sometimes procrastination does pay off.

Actually I was wondering if there needed to be 2 wheels, why not a set-up like on a bush hog? A couple of tabs welded to the back of the blade and a trailer tongue jack for adjustment wouldn't be very hard to fabricate. Have to come up with the parts from a junk hog though or just fab that too.

Too bad that you live almost 5 hours away or I'd fix you up with something to help out.

I had to level 2 tons of crusher run this Spring and tamped it with my FEL bucket. It was difficult to get it level.
How come nobody suggests rolling the gravel with a water drum like on a steam roller? The gravel would lock together in a flattened state that way instead of being fluffed up by blades or chains only to need more work when driven over and dislodged. No I don't have a steamroller but I sure have use for a tractor pushed or pulled water drum. I can't even walk on some of my rototilled plots let alone run the tractor because their so fluffy. Rolling them flat and level would make them more user friendly. By the way, that "locking" gravel squishes out from under my backhoe stabilizer pads like slush. It's all along the road in front of my house and loves to get into the snowblower so it can get blasted all over the lawn. So far I haven't shot a car or person with it; but, I sure would like to level it and seal it like blacktop.

I use my King Kutter landscape rake, angled to pull the gravel in from the edges. Gage wheels help but if the drive is fairly flat a LS rake is all you need. Mine is 6 foot which won't quite cover the wheels of my old Ford 3000 if it's angled but hasn't been a big issue as far as my drive goes.
