Hi,
I've read the threads about pulling pipe with a subsoiler. I'm all set to go except nobody in town has a subsoiler. I've called everywhere I know within 100 miles. A few middlebusters, no subsoilers.

What are my options for ordering online?

I've checked out Northern Tools. They have 2: King Kutter's SS MB combo but it says category 0 hitch. Also, I'm concerned that the combo won't plow deep enough (about 8-12") for sprinkler lines. The other is a Howse combo. Same concern here, plus it's $200 + $170 shipping.

I guess I'm looking for a King kutter subsoiler or something similar for a category 1 hitch.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Barney

I have that KK combo and use it with my 21-hp Kubota B7510HST. When the ground is relatively soft during the rainy season (Nov-May), I easily dig a 12" deep trench with the sub soiler. Now the ground is hard as rock, so I don't plan to do any deep trenching until Nov when I'll lay more sprinkler pipe.

And the pins on the KK combo fit my category 1 hitch.

Flusher, Thanks for the confirm on the pin size.

I just ordered one from NorthernTool for $140 and free shipping with keycode 90473 (orders over $149 ends today).

I hope you got that free shipping. When I tried to order it yesterday using the keycode it indicated about $95 for shipping by truck. The free shipping was only for UPS I think. I held off but will be miffed if there really was free shipping available.

I also hope you got free shipping. I tried to buy one from NT last year when free shipping was noted, but alas, not so in the fine print apparently. I cancelled my order when they sent me a shipping quote update.

Barney: I just picked up a subsoiler from TSC in my town. IF you can get to a TSC store, and they don't have it they may be able to pull it from a different store. Mine was priced at $169, however, they offered a 15% discount over the July 4th holiday so I took advantage of that and paid $139 & change. TSC is selling "FARM FORCE" implements in my area....powder coated, made in the USA & have a 1 yr warranty. This is a pretty hefty implement...weighs about 128lbs.

Good luck with your project!

Thanks for the heads up guys! When I "checked out" it showed free shipping with an explainitory note regarding the "UPS/over $149" offer and the confirm email I got shows free shipping. I will definately be on the lookout for a revised shipping email. Interesting that the Howse combo is "truck ship" only while the KK is UPS.
Cheers!

good info everyone, thanks. I missed the free shipping, drats. It was only $28 by UPS though. I'm not sure what the $95 shipping is about. Hopefully, they don't change their mind and bill me more.
Daze, I called my "local" TSC - 150mi away - and they told me 5-7 weeks to get one in. Heck, it would have cost me more than $28 to drive there anyway :)

I bought a KK subsoiler, welded on a 2" pipe sweep and layed about 700' of 3/4 poly this week. Worked well except it only went about 6-10" deep which is fine as I will blow out for winter anyway. The ground kind of chunked up a little too as I have rock hard clay. I wanted to get it in now to get ready for fall planting.

I got mine frm TSC, and I recently used it to run 225' of RG-6 cable to my house from my SAT TV Dish, and also to run 120' of 2 wire 14 gauge direct burial cable and conduit adding another lamp post on my property. it is a King K, and it did will down to 14 inches or so.
