Kubota L2800/LA463
i bought my kubota tractor last week and i ordered pats easy change. It came in yesterday and i installed it it worked great but i needed a longer top link. So today i go to my dealer and ask for a 24 inch toplink and the lady says the longest they have is 16 inch and they dont make any toplinks longer than that.
Well i already have a 16 inch so i go to the john deere dealer 2 blocks away and they have every size top link you could imagine. it was also the same brand of toplink my dealer sells they need to get some better parts people.sorry just had to vent.

To a customer, I submit, that lady IS the dealer. Obviously, she isn't properly trained. Whose fault is that if not the dealer?

She must have thought you asked for the "Missing Link" not the "Top Link".

She has been there for a while this wasnt her first week. You better believe i am gonna rag on a dealer when it calls for it. If there gonna sell me 18,000 dollars worth of equipment they better be prepared to stock parts and give me service.
The john deere dealer i got the part from is half of the size of my kubota dealer and they have 10 times more selection of 3 point parts.

I'm not going to try to make excuses for anyone, just offer my thoughts. Some of these dealers aren't "old school". They're recent additions to the industry. Kubota, Kioti, FarmTrac, ect, while being a decent tractor, are relatively new to the fray. (as compared to say John Deere, who's been selling tractors since before most of us were born) There's new dealers popping up every time I look around. MAYBE, just maybe, the Deere dealer has been at it longer. They know initial sales is only a small part of being a long term, successful dealership. Some dealers, even a few Deere dealers, are just getting their feet wet with the recent years seeing a big increase in small tractor sales. NOTHING takes the place of experience.

And with a burgeoning market for small "homeowner" tractors, business is good. Even a bad dealer can make it in some markets. When times get tough, and their backs are against the wall, we'll see how many of these young upstarts stay the course.

Meantime, it sure does get under your skin when they don'tknow or don't have what you need (and they SHOULD know or have)

I do agree with you 100%. My dealer has 3 locations within a 75 mile radius they have been in there location here for a good 20 years. I do expect alot i am goin to admit that but the deere dealer has only been there maybe 2 years at the most and they had what i needed. It seems like service in this country is goin down hill real fast. I bought 5 acres over a year ago and have had alot of people perform different services for me and 75-80% had to be called back because of poor workmanship. Thats way to many slackers.
