What's a good price for a Rhino, Bush Hog, or Woods quality?

Is it worth it to spend the money on the big name, or will the King Kutters, Howse, etc lines be good enough?

I ran a LandPride FD15-48 behind a Kubota B6100 for better than 10 years and it was still a servicable mower when i traded in the B6100 on my L3130. I don't remember exactly what I paid new but I got about 1/3 of that when I sold it.

I have always believe that it paid to buy quality unless you knew postively you would have short need of the item.

Woods doesn't make the 48" any more. I bought an old used one this year in fair shape for $225. Saw one of the last ones made sell for $485 about 2 years ago and it had a gearbox on it. Mine has just a belt. Landpride still makes a 48" but I don't know what it costs. Parts availability is a big selling point.

Is LandPride considered a high quality implement?

I have a LandPride 60"RFM and it's a real dandy. Really does a great job of cutting and it looks to be a pretty stout unit. I've looked at the KK units at TSC and you definitely get what you pay for. They look to be quite a bit lighter. I believe my LandPride 60" weighs in at 585#.

I know there are better RFMs out there than KK. The paint and the welds aren't purdy on the KK units like the others, but we've been cutting with one for 5 years now and it still seems to cut pretty darn nice.

I have a Land Pride FDR 1648. 48" cut and for what it's worth it weighs 486lbs. I bought it 3 years ago and have had no problems with it. Seems like a good mower...cost around $1,200 if I remember correctly. Should outlast my mowing lifetime. Make sure the mower you buy extends beyond (covers) your wheels so you can mow close to any structures. I've never heard that any of the rear discharge mowers cut well in tall or wet grass. Mine certainly does not otherwise cuts fine. It's easy to connect and disconnect

Local Dealer has some 2 year old Marischio? RFM's in stock. I've heard some okay things about these....I think they're called Jolly mowers.

I wasn't trying to cut you mower down. I was just trying to point out the fit and finish of the LandPrides was pretty good. I also like the rounded corners on the deck. The KK stuff is definitely a good value. I bought a tiller (48" gear drive)this past Fall and everyone has been impressed with it. I apologize if I defamed the KK name.
