I am in the market for some new implements for my GC2300. Specifically, I am looking for a post hole digger (? Woods PHD25?), a landscape rake with gage wheels, and a back blade with tilt. All will be used on my subcompact GC2300. Please include prices if possible. I am in NC.

Thanks

I am sorry that I did not make myself more clear...I am looking for recommendations of the BEST implements for this size tractor...price does not matter, I just want to have a general ballpark of what owning the BEST implements for this class tractor would cost before I start negotiating with the dealer...I have looked at TSC stuff and am not impressed, Woods, Bush Hog and BEFCO are all front runners in my book...

I'm sure you realize that there are sub-cut sized implements and there are full sized implements. Several manufacturers make sub-cut sized implements, but as you have already found out there is a difference in the quality and design between the various brands.

I personally like the Midwest brand, they make their equipment in the "15" series which is ideal for the Sub-Cut sized machines. However, for the rear blade you are looking for, with a "tilt" feature, you would need to go up to their "22" series blade. Compared to the 15 series blades, I believe the moldboard may be taller on the 20/22/30/40 series blades so the 22 series tilt blade may not be suitable? You would want to check into the specs or call the company. I've used 3 or 4 different brands, but purchased a 22 series Midwest blade. http://www.midwestequipment.net/rear_blades.htm

Midwest equipment has much cleaner welds that the TSC grade equipment, it is power coated rather than simply spray painted. The adjustments use heavy duty pins with large grab handles so most adjustments can be made with your gloves on, and with little fear of losing them in the tall grass because they are typically large enough to see! The cutting edges are bolted on and can be replaced when worn.

Midwest also makes great rakes. I've used several brands, but own a 22 series Midwest. I no longer see the tilt featured 22 series available on their website, so that may be discontinued? They sell gauge wheels as an add on option. http://www.midwestequipment.net/landscape_rakes.htm

I also own some LandPride and it is good equipement. I think their paint quality is a little lacking but the equipement is well designed. Woods is also a top quality brand, I don't own any of it but have looked it over very closely and would buy/recommend it for its quality. BEFCO makes some of the very best PTO driven implements. I love their stuff and have owned some of it, but currently don't have any BEFCO equipment. I don't know if they make a line of products for the sub-cuts.

Sounds like Bob summed it up pretty well.

Take a look at my pics to see my implements - Midwest rear blade and rock rake w/gauge wheels, and Landpride tiller.
