I just bought a new tractor with a FEL with the skid steer quick attach, and I was wondering if anyone thinks that the pallat fork attachment is usefull for cleaning up a lot of down debris? trees, logs and brush washes up on our property every year when the bottoms flood. Or would the money be better spent on a grapple? Or can the bucket do enough without additional equiptment?
I just am trying to decide before I take delivery to save on shipping.

I have moved trees with my pallet forks and it seems to work pretty well. I'd say if you aren't doing it all the time then the pallet forks will work fine for plus you have them for other uses. My pallet forks have turned out to be what I use most on my tractor. The forks make it so easy to move so many things. I've put all of my implements on pallets so I can store them inside a building and lift them out with the tractor when I need to use them. We have steps up to our house and the pallets forks have made it so much easier to move things in and out. I took a pallet and covered it with a sheet of plywood and use that to move furniture and other things from ground level up to my porch, then I just roll them off on a dolly or set the pallet at a comfortable heigth to lift things off of it if I'm moving boxes or something like that. I know that got way past what you were orginally talking about but hopefully it will give you some ideas for other uses for the forks if you decide to get them. John

John, there are a number of pallet forks on ebay in a range of prices. For lite duty use what do you recommend. I don't need one that will lift 3000#( have a small compact) I can see how handy and useful they are. Thanks, Tony

Pallet forks should work great if you are working on level ground. I was contemplating forks before I purchased my grapple, but my land is not very level, so I would still need to use chains to stabilize larger objects I would be moving.

I tried using my bucket to move logs and brush, but found myself getting on and off hooking, rehooking, and unhooking chains alot more than I wanted to. Lost alot of time.

If you have the money and the demand - get the grapple. My only regret was that I did not purchase mine sooner.

That is the same thought I had. I waited about 10 years to buy mine and wish I had bought it years ago after the first time I used it. Now it is probably one the most implement I have. Very very versatile.
