I am in the market for a tiller for my GC2300. I have used a 48" inch one with it and it did I good job in my soil. I think I will stick with ~48". I am not sure of chain versus gear drive, offset, and tine shape/number.

Looking for advice or recs on ones from different manufacturers from those who have experience. CCM, King Kutter, and Selma/First choice all jump to mind as ones I have seen recommneded here before but I am open to other recs of ones to check. If you own one, please say what made you choose it

Thanks

I bought the CCM tiller, their MR series, 49" width, for my BX2230. No complaints at all, and I'd do it again. They were great to deal with and very helpfull. I picked it because I felt that the gear drive would be more durable, but I certainly don't know that for sure. From the pictures on their web site, it just looked 'beefy'. I wasn't disappiointed there either. My brother bought a Landpride tiller for his B7510, and the frist thing he said when he saw mine was 'wow, that thing looks alot stronger than mine!'. Not that he's had any problems with his mind you. I also liked the 17" scroll diameter; it should allow it to till deeper, and the 6 tines per flange should make it better at chopping up the soil, and take less horsepower to run since each tine now takes a smaller 'bite'. It was orange also, which meant it matched my tractor!
Good Luck with what ever you choose. Just don't put it off too long!
