Kioti CK30HST, Kubota BX-1500,
A Homier sale is coming here to Winchester VA in two days and I wonder if anybody has anything to say about the Homier Box Blade 5', Tiller 42", Landscape Rake, or anything in general.

For Kioti CK30HST

I have seen them before, but not having a tractor then, not too interested. As I remember they looked solid...

In general, I think you would be hard pressed to find anything of lower quality than Homier. They are not exactly known for quality, durability or reliability. They are known for 'cheap'. It all depends on what you want.

I'm normally very leary of anything from Homier. Most of their stuff is the cheapest of cheap Chinese crap. That being said, there are some good deals still to be had at the Homier sales...

I bought a 5 foot box blade from a Homier sale over three years ago for only 250 dollars, and I feel I got my money's worth out of it a couple times over. I looked at it and decided it was just a hunk of steel; what's the worst that could go wrong with it! However, there are 90 percent of the items there I wouldn't give a second look at.

When you get there, check out anything you are looking at very carefully. Also, if you buy something large that is kept out back, see if they will let you pick out the one you want. Out of all the box blades that had there, I chose the one with the wood shipping crate that was most intact, checking to see if the hardware bag was there and making sure there were no holes in it where any nuts or bolts could have fallen apart.

In the past, I've been disappointed by many of the things I've purchased from them but the box blade goes into the "win" column for me!

Homier carries the stuff that wasn't good enough for Harbor Freight.

A box blade might be ok. Kinda hard to go wrong there with anything.
Could be thin metal and the first stump you snag crumples it.

Homier is like a band of gypsies or a traveling circus.
Would you buy tools from either of those fly-by-night groups.

Sometimes they are fun, sometimes they are a pain, but I bought my box blade at a public auction liquidating a farm. I bought a 7' box blade made by Woods that weighs right at 1000 pounds for $225. I use it as a battering ram with a 50 hp tractor. I doubt a Homier box blade would have lasted me one day. There again, if you only need it for grading your gravel driveway etc., the light duty model may be fine. The same size blade from Rural King weighs about 400 pounds. In general, Homier products are not good enough for TSC, Harbor Fright, Rural King etc. That is why they do their own traveling show..

Also, in general, if you buy something from their traveling show and it breaks in half the next week; you own both halves. The show is on to the next town trolling for prey and I doubt they would acknowledge you if you chased them down.

I have dealt with Homier for many years, of the mobile tool sales I would say they are one of the better ones. It's like anything else you have to shop with your eyes open. I bought a pond scoop from them last year for $115.00. sure has paid for itself over and over again already. I have seen their boxblades and look ok to me. I didn't buy one because they carry the 5' model and I didn't think that I should use any bigger than a 4' with my Iseki.
