After many years of looking I purchased a used Patu chipper yesterday. It supposedly hasn't had a lot of use but has been sitting outside so the red paint is somewhat faded. The old owner couldn't find a manual for the chipper so does anyone know where I could get one? It is relatively simple, driven off the PTO obviously but has a slip clutch instead of belts. I was planning on a Jinma chipper when I saw the Patu and the Patu is a couple of hundred pounds lighter which should make it easier to move around....a little easier anyway. Anything I should know about the chipper? Is there some sort of adjustment/maintenance on the slip clutch I should do to make sure it is working ok? It doesn't look like the blades have ever been out of it.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you Robomarc I appreciate it. I take it the Junkkari is the same as the Patu? I don't see anything in the manual about slip clutch maintenance though.

Maj...... just do a search for "slip clutch" here. I know i have read a thread that explained the process of adjusting slip clutches here within the past six months or so. It looked to be very straight forward. They are simple enough... the tension on the springs dictates how much force will overcome the spring's tension and cause the clutch to slip.

Ductape I did that and yes found a fairly simple loosen, burnin/slip, re-tighten. I'll probably try it tomorrow if I get the time to play a little. I just got it off my trailer which was easier than I thought. It weighs 650# but I drove up to the trailer w/the tractor, pulled it back enough to get under the legs, hooked a chain around if and it came off real easy and the tractor didn't even grunt!
