Back when I bought my MF 150, it wasn't ever intended as a tillage tractor. I had a 5000 Ford then, later replacing that with a 2440 Deere. I never once hooked a disc to the 150. Had I, it would have been a model #25 MF disc. That was the best 3-point disc available back in the day when smaller tractors were still used as primary power on smaller farms. Time marches on.
So, I finally quit farming for the most part. I'm just playing now. I thought it would be nice to find the plow and disc that would have matched up to my 150. Still haven't found the plow. (model #66, 2X14" or 2X16") But I DID find the disc. Searching a local "classifieds" paper yesterday, I found one. It a bit rusty, but intact, and ready to take to the field. In fact, I disced the sweetcorn field today when I got the disc home just to see if everything worked. And it DID!
This winter, I'll dismantle it, sandblast everything, prime, then paint. New decals are on the way. I even found the serial # on the frame and I'm having a stencil cut to paint it back on. Obsessive? You bet! Gotta have it PERFECT!
Here's a few pictures of (IMHO) the best 3-point disc ever built. This one is a 9' model.
