I want to get a landscape rake to use on my Massey 1533 (33 HP). What size should I get? I'm thinking either a 6 or 7 foot rake for that size of tractor. My 6' box blade clears my tractor wheels by 5" or so on either side but with the landscape rake being able to be used at an angle would I want to go wider so I could cover the tracks even when it's used at a angle?

I would go with a 7' rake, perhaps an 8' rake.

I use a 6' rake with a 24hp tractor and I've used a 7' rake with a 30hp tractor without even feeling any pull on the tractor.

When I spoke to the NH dealership they recommended a 7' landscape rake for my 28 HP NH TC29DA for the very reason you mentioned. Jay

Yep, i'd say eight if you have no trees to squeeze between, seven if you do.

You want to own the widest landscape rake you can AND still be able to swing it around 180 degrees.

My guess is that a 6 ft rake would be a good fit for you.

I bought a 6' rake today. It might be a little on the short side but I got a really good price on it and the dealer told me if I don't like it I can bring it back next week and return it for credit towards a longer rake. So I'm going to give the 6' a try and see how it goes, it doesn't work I'll probably trade up to a 7'.

The answer depends a little on what you will be doing with it.

I have a 7' LR and it's fine on my 3320. My vote would be for a 7' LR at a minimum. If you are only manicuring an existing gravel drive, I imagine you could handle an 8' LR.

I have a 30HP. tractor with a 7' rake,I would not go any larger. You will find that in many projects,a larger size would be a hinderence. Also if you every plan on trailering your rig(tractor, loader, rake) the size trailer(length)width of rake(6'-8') rake wheels, all have a bearing on this operation. When I trailer my rig, angling the 7' rake is impossible. Good luck with your choice!
