Hello and good morning All!

Well, we finally got one! Thanks to a good friend and a little bartering, we now are part of the box blade family. It's a Bush Hog brand and I think it's a 6'er. And we've been tearin it up (the land of course) since we've got it. I've read and heard a lot of comments about box blades and I've been wanting one since I first heard of them and now I can see why they are such a valuable asset to the farm/country life. These things can do amazing things in a short amount of time. We've been tearin it up and having so much fun that I cut our phone line cable and now have no phone! We had our natural gas line buried about 4' prior to gettin the BB because we had already decided on this one area to BB and we had all our other utility lines marked but for some reason this one spot where I went over the phone line was actually pretty shallow. So I figure it's a good lesson in no matter how much you prepare for something, take the extra step and pay attention to what you're diggin up. This good ol' earth hides many treasures and dangers, and of course lots and lots of roots and rocks!

thanks again y'all for your awesome input on just about anything tractor and implement related.

Hey Steve (nice name)
I know what you mean by the phone line. When we moved into our new place I began to till the main yard up to smooth it out. Wasn't long before the "boss" came out yelling that the phone didn't work. Turned out the guy that buried it tried to cut some corners and not go as deep as he was suppose to. (real hard clay) I called the phone company and they put in a rework order. to bad for that guy cause he had to start from scratch. Run the line 300' along the road then 225' down the side yard and another 200' over to the back of the house. I did have to give a very short arguement over paying for it but they finally admitted that if I cut while tilling then it was to shallow but not until I said bump it and told them to cancel the call and I would use just the cell phones. Surprising what the potential lose of money will do!!

Hey Steve (very cool name)

yup, the phone guy came and he's puttin in a work request to move the line. He said they shouldn't have put it in the yard area and it should've been deeper.

And by your quote, have you ever thought of takin your tractor fishin, parkin it in the river and fish from there. If you have the FEL, there's your net! :D
