hello,i am in the market for a backhoe for my tn60a. It has a loader on it now, from what i have seen the only company that makes a subrame for this tractor is Bradco. Most dealers tell me it is not nesesary for this size tractor. I have a full belly pan "skid plate" on this tractor and i don't think the subframe would fit with it. I am seriousley considering a bushhog 950 3 point hitch hoe. Any comments or sugestions would be apreciated thanks.

I would say go with the Bradco and modify your skid plate for the sub frame, or just take pieces of it and attach to the subframe. I am buying a Mahrindra 6520 4WD with a KMW skid steer loader and a Bradco 511 backhoe. The BH came in last Sat. to my dealer and has more features and is beefier than I realized. The 6520 has came in also, but is waiting for the loader at Mahindra's facility. Go sub frame if you like your tractor.

The sub-frame won't hurt it none but with this size of tractor you really do not need one. So I guess it depends on how much more the sub-frame would add to the cost as well as reworking your belly plate.

You should do a bit of homework and talk to the dealer about the need of a sub-frame of just going with 3-pt. Some tractors require a sub-frame to keep your warranty. It's often smart to follow their instructinos. Damage to tractors with light infrequent use is rare. But make no mistake, the extra stress from a hoe is adding to the cumulative wear and tear. There is less W&T with a sub-frame.

A subframe is not needed for a backhoe on a TN60. Indeed, New Holland doesn't offer a subframe for a TN60 as an option with their backhoe--3pt only.

Subrames are musts on all the TC series, but once you get to a TN the castings are strong enough to withstand the stress of the backhoe.
