I have a 32 hp Ford Jubilee. I have been pulling a 5 ft brush hog with it. I tore my stump jumper up really bad on one of these Missouri rocks and I am looking at getting a new brush hog. Should I stay with a 5 ft or can the tractor handle a larger one?

I'd stay with a 5 footer. Any more than that and you will not get the performance you expect out of a brush hog.

Agreed, stick with a five footer. There might be a 66" on the market, but you might also have to drive a long way to find one

Anything over 5' will start to get pretty heavy. You might need some front weights. Many people do pull 6' cutters with 600's and NAA's, but it all depends on what you are cutting and how tired the engine is!

5 Footer
6 footer is pretty heavy and putting a lot of stress on the gearbox.

Generally speaking, a rotary cutter should use about 4 to 5 PTO horsepower per 12" of mower deck. So a 32 horsepower tractor will have roughly 25pto horsepower. 25 PTO Horsepower = 5' of mower deck.

If you are only doing light duty cutting, you could go to a larger deck, but at that point you'd probably want a lighter duty deck because a heavy duty 6' deck is going to be very heavy on the rear of a Jubilee.

I'll agree with johnbuds answer. lots of people do pull a 6' cutter with NAA and 600. I have used both a 5' and 6' on my NAA.. the 5' is light and spins like nothing back there.. the 6' is more of a load. If you are cutting 3' high wet grass.. stay with a 5' mower.. if you are clipping blacktops on pasture, or knocking down stemmy brush.. 6' may be fine.

To bob.. A late 8n w/ 119ci updated lhead engine has 27 pto hp.. a NAA with 134ci red tiger OHV engine will have 30 pto hp... and lots of guys run 6' rough mowers with naa, and the other hundred series using the 134ci engine.

As long as the lift can pick the mower up.. you should be good to go.. Ballast the front bumper to offset rear weight if she is light.
