I got my Jinma 6" Chipper today. Instructions that have been posted are great. About an hour to assemble and two hours to change belts, fluids, grease, etc.. Spent two hours chipping, and it works great! My New Holland TC30, unloaded it without a problem, and had plenty of power to run it. These are definately heavy, you know it's on the back of the tractor.

If anyone in Washington is looking for one, I got this one just South of Olympia, from Gary Lanstra. His website is Cedarville Trading Company - Home. The price was $1250. Tax is an additional 8.3% and he delivers for $1 a mile.

Looks like plenty of alder trees in the background to be sucked into the chipper. Any action pics?

I had the camera with me, and I had great intetions of getting action, before and after shots. But once I started, it became a bit of a challenge to keep up with the chipper. Once a branch started, I went to get another one. I will get some action shots next time I use it. With 17 acres of alder, just like you see in the background, I have lots of opportunity to use the chipper. It's become my favorite attachment.

I will measure the opening next time I am at the tractor, but I am sure it's 6". So it would handle 6" material. The reality is, it will handle most 4" material when you have branches that are not straight, or limbs that are too big too easily break off when it goes into the feed roller. Originally I was thinking 6" was overkill, but I am glad I have the capability, and can feed just about any 4" material, branches and all.

Better yet, might you have a 800 number for them ?

Well that's a couple hundred less than I paid for mine out of Victoria including tax. I called a couple places here in WA but nobody had any in stock and didn't have a firm delivery date. You got a deal.

It will chip a clean 6" alder log, I had to try mine for posting purposes. I usually only run <4" stuff but with limbs on it could have 6" cross section. It sure is nice to cut a sapling and just feed it in. No building a burn pile, waiting for it to dry a bit, and then tending a fire all day. Just send it back to nature.

Enjoy you new toy...opps, I meant tool.

I don't believe Gary has a 800 number, his website is linked in the original post, but his number is 360-870-1443. When I called a couple of weeks ago, he did not have one in stock, but said he could have one in a couple of days.

I would definately print the directions that were put togerther by DYI Guy, they were a great help. The only suggestion I would have, is to watch the sequence when you assembly the lower stand (the 4 plates that makes a box the chipper sits on), the lower 3-point arms also attach to two of the bolt holes on each side. I finished assmbling the lower stand and then did a little rework to remove some bolts and attach the 3-point arms. I would also replace the feed roller belt as noted.

As LarryD mentioned, it is great to feed in 4" and smaller material and not worry about the limbs. I only have two hours on mine, but really love it. I also used to drag limbs around into piles and wait for the right time to burn, lots of work and I always worried about starting an un-intended fire.
