Bob, I have used clevis device on my towbar,the work fine. Recently I took out the towbar flipped it over and welded on a heavy duty d-ring. The type you see on flatbed trailers. Works great too! Jim in Idaho

Good idea about the tire franz, hadn't heard that one before and like you said, the odds of ripping one in two is slim to none with a compact. (maybe two D9's heading in opposite directions!! [img]/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif[/img] Blankets a good idea too, have also used tarps in the past for the same effect.
