Well the other thread was getting rather large so I thought I would ask in a new thread. I am still waiting for mine ordered in September backordered with an expected delivery date of November. I assume no one else has gotten one this month. I also would like to know the width of the lower pick-up arms from the inside of one to the inside of the other. I have an attachment that has a width of 27" between the inside edge of the lower pins

I'm still waiting on mine, but I thought I read that it was 26"?

Hey guys,
I've been following all the threads about these hitches and had been considering ordering one. A Harbor Freight store opened a couple of miles from my house so I stopped in for a visit. They had the quick hitches in stock and they were priced at 69.99 so I bought one. I'll check the fit with my implements later this week, see if any adjustments are necessary and then decide if it was worth it. I'll keep you posted.

I also looked @ one here. I did have a problem with the fingers that hold
in the implement pins. They did not appear to lift up enough to get the implement off thedevice. Is there any tricks for this, otherwise, I did not find it useable.

Mine measures 26 inches and three quarters of an inch between attachment points.

Mr. Jimi. Is that 26 & 3/4 inches center to center, or inside to inside, on the lifting points of the quick hitch itself? I have read some of these threads and except for the engagement slot being 1.250 inches, while the lift arm "eyeballs" OD are 1.375", I haven't seen or heard of any other dimensions. Interested in ordering one but need to measure all of my "stuff" first. I have no problem opening the slot to make things work, a minor inconvience for the price really...............if I can use one.

elalexander, The one I bought measured 26 3/4 between the mounting hooks.
My mower is 27" wide at the pins, so it didn't fit. I believe the ASAE spec calls for 27 1/2" wide between the hooks on a QA. Some people have used a jack to spread the arms on the HF QA. I just returned mine rather than do that.

I had the same problem with the inside to inside width between where it hooks into the lower arms being an inch or so too narrow. All I did was take a bottle jack on its side with a piece of 2 x 4 between and moved them 1.5 or so inches apart. It was easy and worked like a champ.

Thanks FLinTexas. The HF site & booklet do not give dimensions. Tryin to save some heart ache.

ASAE Standard for an an implement that will be used with an ASAE-compliant Quick Hitch:

"The distance between the inner portions of the two lower hitch pins must be between 26.81 and 26.94 inches."

I may have to do the jack thing to mine, One of my impliments is right at 27" spread. My adapter came Saturday and my 3 piece tin snip set from the coupon I used came last week also. Hopefully the hitch will be here soon.

I just ordered 2 hitches from HF (Going to get one welded to a QA plate so I can use stuff on the front) and one adapter. They told me the hitches are on back order to Nov 17 - didn't say anything about the adapter.

I bolted my adapter to my backing plate and I have metal around 4 edges so it won't move and I can use same backing plate for other things

I had been following the old thread for some time. The price was too tempting so I decided to check with my local retail store before the deal was gone. They had some hitches in last month but the few they got sold out fast. Could get a rain check but they did not have the adapter so I opted to phone the order in. Used the coupon code for the $5.00 off and a set of aviation snips. I already have the snips and they work good so these will be spares. Would rather had the gloves or even the duffle bag but free is free. They had the same leather gloves at the store on sale for $1.50 pair so I picked up a couple pair.

The total for the hitch, adapter, and the free snips was a little less than $84 w/shipping. Impossible to beat even if it requires a little modification. I have a freind who is called Mr. Modification so maybe trade the snips for some of his "make it fit" help.

To place a Phone Order 805-388-3000.

Ask for Item #29309, Description "93691 Hitch Adapter (Optional)". Total cost with shipping, $16.43.

My order # always showed as 'not in system' but the item arrived in under 10 days.

I picked up the HF hitch during a recent weekend sale, $69.99 minus 10% for the special sale and minus 15% with a coupon I had recevied from prior puchases, total cost: $53.54 plus tax (PA180007). I refused to add the adapter and decided to modify my implements (PA180003). My 60" KK BB was easily adapted by moving the back braces outside the upper pin. Also, separated the upper hook to a 3" space and had to grind off the excess bolt on the HF bracket, only the head and the nut show right above the picture showing the pipe nipple (PA180004). I also had to cut back about 1" of the side gusset on each side next to the pin for clearance (PA180001). I can easily remove the upper bolt with the 3" pipe nipple for other tractors to use a normal 3 pt. attachment. Since I only have a BX 24, I don't have to worry about that at all.

See the pictures attached. This works great. I don't have to get off the tractor to hook or unhook the BB. The original width was 26-3/4" out of the box. I used a floor jack to spread arms to a bit over 27" (PA180009).

Huh, interesting. What else would you use the backing plate for? They also seem reasonable at $125 from ATI to get extras if necessary.

I really appreciate your ideas - I think you are the one who put the idea of 3 point QA on the front in my head. I'm thinking for rake and blade its going to be really useful - makes a really cheap snow plow.
