Having read the information in this forum, I am in the process of ordering a Markham Toothbar for my new Kioti CK30. My very first tractor!!
I am hoping the installation will be easy or is it something I should have done?
Thanks,
Ken

My understanding is that it is pretty easy. I am hoping to get some insight from johnnylight.

BTW, welcome to TBN!!! You'll love it here.

Ken, if the toothbar is the right size, all you have to do is drill two holes in the FEL bucket; probably 5/8" or 1/2" although I understand some use 3/4" bolts. It's simple.

Hi Ken,
Welcome to TBN. If you can drill a couple of holes you can easily do the installation yourself. Here is a thread of how I installed mine. It might give you a few ideas. Click on this: ToothBar Installation

Thank you.
My dealer just told me he sells "slip on" toothbars. Any thoughts on those.
Thanks Again,
Ken

Ken,

I have not seen a 'slip on' toothbar but I would guess if it slips on it will slip off also. 3RRL did a great set of instructions, I did not put in the welded backer plate things ad I have not bought a welder yet. I just drilled the 3/4" holes and all has been good.

I have only removed the toothbar a few times, leveling gravel prior to pouring concrete, and some dirt leveling in the so called yard, to remove ruts.

A toothbar is a simple addition that if you have 20 hours of tractor time in and then put on your toothbar you will wonder why you waited so long to add the tooth bar.

I would guess that what your dealer is calling a "slip on toothbar" is the same thing that everyone here is talking about, and the same thing you will get from Markham. It slips over the stock cutting edge, and is held on by two bolts which go through side tabs on the toothbar, then through two holes drilled in the side of your bucket.

I can't see how installation could be much easier.

I lightly clamped the toothbar into position and center punched with a transfer punch.

Drilled a 1/8", then 3/16" hole for the pilot of the Roto-Bor. Put Roto-Bor into drill with 1/2" chuck and drilled the 2 holes. Took 10 minutes or less.

Forward pressure keeps the tooth bar on. The bolts just keep it from falling off.
