I am curious, but is there such a thing as a basic replacement plate/frame/brackets etc.. that mounts in place of your bucket on the FEL? Something where you could weld the tool of choice onto, and then exchange this homemade attachment for the bucket when needed..... Because I don't know about this or what it is called i am clueless on how to search for it in the forums.

Thanks

John Deere 990 (which I haven't purchased yet - but am planning ahead)

Not sure about the larger JD FELs, but for the 200-300 series, you can get the top hooks and bottom pins from JD.

Done it twice myself.

Yes. Get a Bobcat quick attach system and have fun. :)

Do some searches on TBN for them.

so I would buy these hooks and pins from JD, then fab/weld my own mounting frame to make a generic attachment fit? There are no existing frames made with these pins/hooks already?

Thanks

I bought a 4 X 8 sheet of 3/8's plate and had it sheared and my pictures are in my gallery. Mine is the QA skid steer type
Lots of fun and lots of savings

By the way, the Quick Attach feature on the Power Trac line of tractors is completely amazing. It is the main reason I bought mine. I can change implements like buckets, forks, rakes, etc... in 15 seconds without getting off of the tractor. Powered implements like mowers, tillers and brush hogs take about 30 seconds longer because you have to get off the tractor to hook or unhook two hydraulic hoses. Click on my little animated tractor in my signature and that will take you to my website where there are several videos of the quick attach in action. You will be amazed, too. ;)

Will - that looks like a great concept. Did you fab it up from scratch? Do you have any drawings or parts suggestions?
