Backhoe Woods 750 Backhoe

I'm thinking about picking up a Woods 750 Backhoe (without the tractor subframe) from a private party. It's a few years old, but seems to be in great shape. What would be a good price range for this?

Not sure on the price for a 7500, 3k 3500 maybe. I have the CAD plans for a subframe for the Woods BH9000 if you want them. Subframe is for a NH 2120 but easy to modify. I know Woods wants $950 for the subframe.

I bought a new one in 1998 for $4800. If its still in good shape and I was selling I'd like to see at least $2400.

I bought a Woods 750 a few years ago from a dealer, came with a 12" HD bucket and 18" light duty bucket paid $3250 for it, no sub frame. I found the original owner who had rebuilt a few bushings and replaced some pins in it. It had a leak at the pump when I bought it, went back and bought the 2 "O" rings it needed for $3.50 and hasn't leaked at all. The controls and hydraulics are sloppy but I don't use it like the former owner did, he had used it to install septic tanks, leach beds, and footers- this was attached to a JD 770, no subframe.

Bought mine in 1986 for 3,800 dollars. New and with 16 inch bucket.Only major troubles were the swing cylinder leaked. Dealer fixed that one.Has been very dependable , and still has original hoses (knock on wood.)
Anyway a dealer offered me 2500. dollars on a trade for a new one. So they do hold the value.
Of course this is a dealer offering the amt for a trade. I dint know what a private sale would bring, but id want at least 2000 dollars.

Thanks for all the info. I checked this out in person & found out that my friend (not the seller) & I do not have the same definition of "in great shape". The backhoe has been stored outside & shows it, there's at least one hose that's rotted & ready to go and the teeth are nearly worn off the bucket. I've been told the hydraulics work fine, but I haven't been able to test it. The seller is asking $1800 for the backhoe, which sounds good, but then there's another $900 for the subframe and I have no idea how much it would cost for new hoses & to repair/ replace the bucket. I'm undecided, but definitely a little hesitant to move forward at this price. Thanks again!

There was one recently on ebay, looked in better shape than what you described- no sub-frame.

The hoses can be deceiving. I know someone will post that if the outer case (lining) is chipped and gone, that they need to be replaced.
But mine have beeen that way for a number of years now. I debated about replacing them , but was told it was expensive to get the replacement kit.
So I just wait now for one to go.They are relatively inexpensive , if you were to replace one or two at a time.
My gets garaged, (no heat) .
I dont think thats a bad price just the same. but the subframe really does push it up.
A lot will depend how much you push it. I dont have a subframe. I have gotten caried away and pucked it. bent the curl piston, and broke a casting. But reciently, I snapped the top bracket off the tractor. I cant attribute that to not having a sub frame though as I had the diagional brace disconnected.(my fault).

You might want to check on availablity if you plan to use a subframe with a Woods 750 backhoe. I bought a used Woods 7500 a few years ago that was set up for 3 pt hitch mount. I had one of the Woods "4 point hitch" subframes installed as sson as they came out for my tractor. When I was inquiring with the dealer, he wanted to make sure I had a 7500, and not a 750. He said Woods told him the 750 will not mount on the 4 point hitch subframe.

BTW... the Woods 4 point hitch subframe is GREAT. The backhoe goes on and off very quickly, and the frame does not cause you to lose as much ground clearance as some other subframe designs.
