Tractor
JD 4320
I just bought a JD 4320. I have no clue what it can do, but so far I've managed to mangle a few things, like a set of 3-pt forks and a carry-all. The $70 ones are no match for thr tractor. It's obvious that everything I buy for it is going to have to be on the heavy side....and on the expensive side. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on where I can find used equipment in either the Boston area or in the Catskills? The tractor is actually in Windham, NY (in the Catskill).

Thanks
Sal

A good place to start is Used Tractors at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Caterpillar. and Used Farm Equipment & Agricultural Equipment - John Deere MachineFinder.com They have a calendars that lists the majors like Ritchie Brothers. Most of the local auctions are generally hosted by equipment dealers. They usually put ads in the local ad sheets like Thrifty Nickle, Greensheet, etc. Estate sales/auctions are another source, and places like IronPlanet.

Don't get in a hurry.....there are lots of good deals out there.

Zinno, It seems as the GOOD deals come around when you are not in the market for that particular item. Check out hedge rows as you are driving around, ask the owner if they are interested in selling if they no longer use the item. Sometimes you get lucky. Most often looking in the local papers does not pan out for the good deals, items always seem to be sold befor you call. Good luck and keep eyes and ears open.

Thanks for the responses. Right now I'm looking for a box blade and a rear blade, both Cat. 1. I think DWW68 is correct in saying that you most often run across a deal when you're not looking for one, but I'm curious what to see what I can find at an auction.

Thanks Again
