What has been the experience of anyone adding the conversion to their loader? I see ATI has one to fit my loader (Ford 7108), I believe Kasco also makes one. A few questions....

Approximate cost?
How much did it lower you lifting/breakout capability?
Anyone sell them online?

Thanks for any help.

I added a QA adapter to my Kioti loader. I believe the manufacturer was Horst and it is a very good unit. It weighs about 75-100lbs and pushes the implement out about two or three inches so it will cut down on your lift capacity by 100-150lbs or so. My loader has a 1070lb lift capacity measured at the pivot points so I would estimate I still have somewheres around 700lbs in "mid bucket" position. I use my QA with a 280lb grapple and still have plenty of lift power to raise a completely stuffed grapple (with brush) and I can also lift a 12" x 15foot log high enough to carry it.

The ATI product is also nice according to other TBNers who own it. I believe the ATI goes for around $500-600 but I am not sure. I don't know the price of my Horst as it was bundled in a special deal with the grapple but I suspect it would be about the same.

I have the ATI. I bought it to run forks and I love it, very simple on and off. The forks were my best investment.

I recently did the math for lift capacity loss on a loader with ~1,000 lb. pivot pin lift capability. The ATI quick attach adds ~3" the loss is 60-80 lbs. Surprisingly little.

I bought an ATI quick attach for my Kioti CK30HST. It is a very well built unit. One of the big advantages of the quick attach is that if you ever change tractors as I did you only have to make sure the new one is quick attach and everthing mounts up. In my case it save me money and hours in changing grapples. The only thing I had to install was the hydraulic lines to the loader and it was useable again.
The ATI is a good unit in that it stays open when changing attachments. Most do, but not all, and the ones that don't are a real PITA. The tractor I had between the CK30HST and the JD3520-Cab did not.
As pdsrms said the lift loss is very small. I have carried logs 14 - 16 feet long and 12" around and it is no problem after they are balanced.
Before anyone says something, the ground is very flat where they are being carried.
It is one of those things that you can do without until you have one and then you won't want to be without one again. A little like a grapple.:D

Thanks for all responses. According to my loader manual, I have a breakout force of 2790lb and max. lift capacity of 1100lb. The only difference is, the specs in the manual are for a 2wd and I have a 4wd. I looked at the ATI web site and the adapter I need weighs 76lb, then a plate has to be welded to the original bucket which adds a little more weight. Even if I lose 150 or so pounds of lifting capacity, it will make the loader more user friendly. I always seem to wait until the first flakes fly to wrestle my snowplow on. I'd have to modify the existing plow or replace it... then forks or a grapple.

I thought the whole idea with the quick attach units is the bucket is replaced by an adapter plate/structure which multiple attachments now hook on to. Why should you have to weld anything to the bucket? Doesn't it get removed in this scenario?

You'd weld a QA receiver plate to the original bucket in order to use it with the QA system. The "adapter" is attached to the loader pins. The bucket will therefore need to be modified in order to be attached to the QA. Usually you would cut the "ears" for the pins off the bucket and weld on an attachment receiver plate. Alternatively you can just buy a separate QA compatible bucket but then you have the original useless bucket left over.

Having a JD4300 I don't know about adapters but I would never again be without a QD system for my bucket, forks, rock cradle and lift boom.....

I guess I was thinking that you'd swap adapter plate and bucket, but having the bucket compatible with the adapter plate makes even more sense. I like the idea of being able to have multiple front attachments that are easy on-off too! I love this site - saves me from myself often!!
