Bought a used PHD today for cheap. I don't recognize the method for attaching the toplink. The toplink attach point is seen in the first pic. Is a special toplink bar needed on the tractor side, or is this thing missing parts? I'm just not seeing how this attaches to the top link bar. Most implements have a "I I" type attach point, but this one is different. Can someone explain or snap a pic of how thier PHD toplink is attached?

I also took a few pics of the cutting edge and gearbox in hopes someone could ID the model or brand so I can get some extra cutting edges for the auger. It sure needs them. The man I bought it from gave me some extra cutting edges, but they don't appear to fit this auger. They are seen in the first pic. Are augers pretty much interchangeable with gearboxes? If I can't find a new cutting edge I may just get a new auger.

With a post hole digger, you take the top link off. The eye at the end of the pipe in your first picture is where the pin goes that attach the PHD to the tractor. Use the same pin that held the top link on. I can't help you with the brand.

A PHD does not use a top-link. The looped end accepts the pin/bolt that is in your hand if you take your top-link off your tractor. Depending on the size of that loop of metal you may or may not need a bushing to accept the 3/4" bolt and keep it from being too sloppy.

Make sure you read about PHD safety in the safety forum before using your new toy.

You might check into Bush Hog brand cutters ... it looks similar to my neighbor's bit. If so, they are propriatary cutters, only Bush Hog dealers sell them, at least that's where we had to go to get replacements.

I just went to the bushhog website and looked over all the diagrahms of PHD's. No cigar...their cutters are much different. Single and double flight type only. This is a one piece cutter that uses two carriage bolts to secure it to the auger and the "tip" is built in.
