I own a Ford 641 Workmaster (HD front end) that is in excellent condition that I'd like to add a full hydrolic loader to. I know that I'd need to add an auxillary pump.

I'm looking for advice on what my options might be? Are there any manufacturers that make a new loader for this 40 year old tractor?

I hope you have power steering? I had a 640, same tractor basically. I had a Wagner WM3 loader, old style loader, no down pressure. I think there are many options for you. I have seen new loaders, say offf of mid 80's thru 90's Ford tractors on the 600 thru 900 seres. I have attached a picture of mine. I have since sold it because of the power steering issue, this unit used a front pump.

Good Luck,
Bill

I did a little more research, and Bush Hog offers a unit. Now I am sure there are others too, but this was the one I saw first. I called them, the model they offer for the 600/601 series Ford Tractors is as follows; frame #2346 $3058, mount kit $822, then you need to pick a bucket, joystick and pump. These are list prices they gave me, you could find a better deal.

My 2 cents, makes me think like this. The tractor you have right now is probably worth in the range of, $2500-$3500. Looks like you could spend at least $4500-$5000 on a loader. And you will have a tractor that you will never get even close to getting the money back on. What I did was sell my 640 tractor and get one with a loader on it. You can pick up a nice, say Ford 1710 or 1910, in the neighborhood of $5000 to $8000 with a loader and 4 wheel drive. Or better yet, keep the 641, and get a new tractor anyway!

Kwik Way might have a loader too. Picture attached of what I replaced my 640 with, it is a 85, Ford 1910 4wd loader and backhoe(pic w/o hoe)

Yes, it does have power steering. It is a great tractor with very few hours. I am the second owner. The first only used it to clear snow on an asphalt drive. It has always been stored inside. I don't want to get rid of it if I can find an affordable option for a loader. I do agree with you that I'd never get the $ out of a $4000 loader if I ever sell it. Thanks for the leads. I'll do some more research. This will help me when I talk to my implement dealer.

I have a cousin who has a Ford loader for this model tractor that he no longer uses. He may sell it, it is located in WV though.

Here is a 660 i own with a ford 722 front end loader. it's a 1-arm job.

Uses the built in hydro pump on the tractor ( 4gpm ).. is hyd up, and hyd tip/curl... thus it needs a dual spool with one DA, and one SA port. The dual valves that fit the top cover of the hundred and thousand series fords are still available.

I am in the process of purchasing an 850 to drop another 1-arm loader on, a 711.

Here's a pic of the 722 on my 660 lifting a bale of hay..

Then a pic of the 711 as i bought it from a junk dealer.. and how it now sets.. waiting for a tractor to hang it on..
