Can anyone tell me why most of the blowers are using chain drive for the augers? My B2551 3PH Kubota uses a gear box in the center for both fan and auger like the new Kubota BX series units, although some Kubotas are using chain also. I like the chainless design. I am thinking about buying a TC 29D or 33D and am considering another rear blower. Does Schulte build the blowers in Canada for Kubota? I know Loftness builds the Ford and it, like the Schulte uses a chain setup. I thought both Loftness, Schulte and Erskine quality was excellent. If I go NH, I can put the NH unit on the front of the tractor later.

I'm looking a front mount snow blowers for my NH2120. I don't think Loftness makes NH blowers. My dealer told me this summer the company name, something begining with "F" (FCN, FNC, FMC). I e-mailed him yesterday to get the proper name, I'll let you know the correct company. The literature I have from NH says the front blower has a subframe running the length of the tractor, uses the FEL hydraulics to control raise and lower and shute rotation. My 2120 does not have a mid PTO so I'll need to run a drop gear box from the rear pto. The blower looks pretty good. I don't think you can use the rear blower on the front. The reason I say this is because the specs for the fan is different on the same size blower. Example a 72" rear mount fan diameter is 27" by 6" deep. On a 72" front mount the fan diameter is 32" by 6" deep. But that is just my guess. My JD318 garden tractor has front mount blower with a gear boxes and no chains. On a larger blower I would like a chain due to the fact that it is simpler, easier and cheaper to replcae than a gear box. Can't help you the Kubota info but I'm sure there is somebody here who can. Hope this helps.

I cked at my dealer on a front mount snowblower. He wanted 2700.00 for it. I had passed on a used 5' front mount off a L series kubota. I wished I hadn't but thats life. Oh by the way the used unit could be used front or rear. JIM

Both the local dealer and Loftness told me that Loftness makes the 3pt blowers for NH. The dealer told me who makes the front blowers but, like you, don't remember the company name.

I would assume that trying to adapt a 3pt blower for the front would be an interesting challenge.

especially since rear pto implements are designed around a 540 rpm and the mid-mount pto (which faces forward, and drives front mounted items) runs at (I think) 2000 rpm...
