I'm getting ready to buy a hydraulic top link but I wonder about how best to support it when it's not in use. My tractor came with a heavy wire hook that the stock top-link fits nicely into when not in use. What are you doing to support your hydraulic link when it's not in use?

I think the best thing to go is just take it off.
One pin to pull and two hoses to disconnect...

I use mine too much to even consider dismounting it, so I use a big fat bungee cord. It's maybe 3' long or so, with both hooks holding on to the top of my seat frame. The resulting loop is just the right size to hold up HTL up at about a 45 degree angle. Takes the bumps and rough ride just fine. A black rubber tarp strap of similar length.

But bungee cords deteriorate in sunlight, so this may not be a good idea if the tractor is parked in the sun a lot. In that case, a black rubber tarp strap of similar length will almost certainly last longer.

For the few times it is off, I use a bungee cord.

Almost anything can be used, from rope to metal wire. Be creative.

I use the bungee cord too and I have a long big wooden tool box I made that's bolted to the rear fender to keep chains in. I put it in there with a bungee around it to keep it from bumping out. Another thing I do is Clamp it with some pipe clamps I mounted to the ROPS. I use them for shovels or pry bars, etc.
Here's a picture.

The only time my toplink isn't in use is when the hoe goes on. For changing impliments I use a big bungie to support it while I hook up the lift arms. I would like a hydraulic TL though, be real handy for the back blade to get that angle just right instead of playing with the spinner.....;-)
