I see all you guys here talking about you PTO Blowers. Anybody here looking to buy one??? I am trying to help my uncle out, He purchased a 50 inch Meteor PTO Snow Blower Last year thinking he could use it for his Business. Well In the long run it was not practicle. The Blower has never been mounted on a tractor and was purchased new. I am not sure as to where you other Blower fans are from but we are in the central part of New Jersey. Here is a link for the Blower, it is currently on craigslist. 3 Piont PTO Snowblower if anybody is intrested, email me, message me, tie a note on a rock? Thanks for Helping.

Did you find a home for the snowblower?

I've had my 60" meteor for the last three winters here in Upstate NY. It's behind a B3030 Kubota. It has work well, other than a few sheer pins needing changing once in awhile.

My lane is packed with mud-rock (big gravel). I also would like to use a blower but am concerned about even the skids digging up rock. Has anyone ever considered using wheels instead of skids? I would think they would for sure prevent the blower from digging up rock.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I wish to buy a SB-51 and I am wondering if my Massey Fergusson MF-1010 will have enought HP (13 hp on PTO) to make a good job?

Tank you!

I have a 72" Meteor single auger, I run off the back of a Hesston 100 90. I can also run it off of a Kubota 3710 HST. Great piece of equipment, handles very deep snow, no problem. I make sure the chain and sprocket bearings are oiled and greased and taut and that is about it. I have snapped some shear pins in heavy ice, but that is to be expected. The drive is 1/2+ mile long up a steep mountain side. I find I can adjust how low the unit cuts snow to the pavement by rocking the cutting blade with the top link adjustment.

It was a reasonably priced piece of equipment and I have gotten a good 8 or 10 years out of this unit and it has not let me down. I note the point about the open sprocket chain drive......... under normal conditions it should not be a problem, but I can see how a rock could get up there and it would do damage for sure!.

Has anyone made a chain guard for there blower. It looks simple enough to make one. I have no idea why they didn't make one.
