I used my model 1860 all last summer and am very pleased with it. Since the
fields that I mow are not near any public areas ,I was able to remove the shield that covers the opening on the rear of the mower. In heavy grass it allows for a better discharge of material.(If I were mowing near public areas I would have chain guards installed.)This is the fourth rotary cutter that I have owned over the years and if something happened it I would probably replace it with same make and model.

Thankx ddt. I have a 1542 thats been great. I purchased it for my last tractor, i now have a much larger machine so its not too efficient feeding 23 pto hp into a 42 inch cutter.

What kind of prices is everyone being quoted for the 1860? The cheapest I have gotten from several dealers is $1250.

Thanks,
Terry

Hi terry, its helpful to all tbn members if you fill out your ID as we cant tell what area you are from. The price you posted for the 1860 would be very low here in massachusetts. I would jump on that like a bum on a ham sandwich!

I have a Land Pride 1860 and I like it alot.. It's taken a lot of abuse ...

I've hit stumps, big rocks, small piles of firewood. If I were mowing grass in Iraq I'd hit the weapons of mass destruction with it....

It just jumps around and makes horrible noises and the stuff shoots out in bits and pieces...

Regards,
Chris
