I'm not going to have permanent shelter for disc harrow, box blade, landscape rake and rotary cutter in the foreseeable future at my hunting club. I guess a concrete pad would be best surface. How well would packed stone work if levelled well. What about wooden platform laid over railroad tie sleepers?? Will have to tarp the implements either way.

Due to financial constraints I keep my attachments on level ground blocked up with bricks, pallets on bricks, and cinderblocks with everything covered with tarps. This arrangement has worked pretty well over the last 20+ years. Someday my dream 3 bay garage will materialize. I do not anticipate using this garage for my wife's car or my truck. Jay

Don't see why that wouldn't work...plus when covering w/trap leave couple of ends open to let the air thru...won't trap moisture.

I never will either. Mine sit on wooden timbers ( landscape timbers) so they are up off the ground itself....covered with tarps and BUNGEE corded so that the tarps are "snug" covering them.

I agree with Thomas as to air flow. I do not have a problem with air flow on my property. Jay

All implements are on pallets. No cover (except snow :D ). All greased before storage.

Flintlock. I am in the same boat. My dream machine shed is always on the horizion. One thing I do with tarps (harbor freight etc) is to use bungee cords to hold them down. Then, when the wind does pick up the tarps do not get shreaded. Works for me. Hay, we're all in this together. EL.

I did the same for 2 seasons, until the expanded shop was complete. The gear boxes on the cutter and tiller both had water in them after the first winter. Check before you run them and after 10 minutes. If no brown milkshake, your still good. They were tarped.
