I have been interested in the Millonzi grapples since I first read about them several months ago. Since I would be using it with TC 40D NH machine with 17LA loader, I thought that the light root grapple at 48" would be my best bet for large rock picking, brush clearing and log moving since it is only about 250# and would not eat up large portion of loader's capacity. I spoke with their sales girl today, and she expressed reservations about whether the light unit would handle those jobs. The next unit up from it weighs over 700# and doubles the price. Any thoughts from someone that might own one of the lightweight grapples would be appreciated.

The person I talked to actually talked me out of the bigger unit. IMHO, a wider grapple limits its usefulness for digging things out. Go with the 48". I love mine.

Send a PM to IslandTractor. He'll tell you all about it. You'd be surprised at what you can do with a lightweight 48" grapple.

Your initial plan was correct. The 48" "light" duty root grapple is very versatile and I don't think you can hurt it with a CUT loader. I completely agree that a larger grapple offers very little except to decrease your payload weight capacity. I've posted a bunch of photos over the past 9 months but here are a few relevant to your stated uses:

Glowplug did it for you!:D

To PM just put your mouse over the intended recipient's user name and click on the send "private messages" link. Then just create a new message with the intended receiver's username as the addressee.

10-4 good buddies. Looks like the ticket for me. Thanks. By the way, how many front remotes do you need to run it??

One. I actually run mine from a set of rear remotes. Works just fine and is a lot less expensive if you have rear remotes anyway. The advantage of adding a diverter valve to run it from the FEL hydraulics is not in my opinion the ease of control (just as easy to control with the rear remote lever) but rather that you can then have both the backhoe and grapple active simultaneously. I need to switch the lines back and forth as both implements share the same rear remote. I just dig first then switch and come back to do all the collecting with the grapple but having dual remotes would certainly be desirable if you are intending to run a BH and the grapple.

Hey Island, Why don't you run it from the FEL power beyond circuit? Just curious as I was planning to run mine that way. I see what your post says but if there was a elec switch on the loader joystick wouldn't that be easyer. My rear lever is on the same side a my FEL stick so it looks like it will really wear my right arm out.

Don't have a BH, but planning hydraulic top link. Guess I could use that feed for the grapple. I plan to have box blade in back for counterbalance. Can I disconnect the HTL line without losing control of BB??
