Backhoe Backhoe removal

I know its here somewhere here but are there easier instructions that whats printed in the manual for removing a Woods BX90 from my L3400. Want to try a few implements but am nervous about the removal (and re-attachment)of the Backhoe. Thanks for your help

It used to be that way for me too until I became more adept at using the stabilizers and the bucket to relieve pressure on the attachment points so pins could move more freely. Now I can drop it in a couple of minutes and re-mount it in only a few more. The more you do it the better you get at it.

That's very true indeed. Especially the last part "The more you do it the better you get at it".
Familiarity and knowing what to look for makes it a lot easier. You find yourself looking at those spots that always give you trouble. Then you'll figure out how to position the hoe to overcome the binding. I use the hoe bucket and the stabilizer legs to get it just right so it comes off easy. Then I try to keep it in that same position for remounting. Pretty soon it becomes no big deal.

I was having problems with my hoe "relaxing" after a month or so. I place concrete blocks under it to maintain a heighth so I put the PTO shaft for the pump on and then raise/lower stabilizers and bucket/boom for attachment on the tractor. My hoe doesn't come off often so it takes some time to get it off/on, usually around 15 minutes off/ 20 minutes on (depends on how straight I can line it up).

The first time I removed mine, I went play by play from the manual. It came off nice. Take your time, read over the instructions, and then follow them. I am as new to this as can get. I built a small stand for my backhoe, which I am going to try out tonight.

Thanks guys, I have 15 acres that I just had cleared. So now I want to max the L3400 and get a york rake and a harrow to smooth out the fields. The terrian In New Hampshire is fairly rocky (the granite state) So now comes the fun part of trying to smooth out my fields

Dont want to take over your thread, but my stand worked out perfect. I will post some pics, but I was busy back blading 8" of snow. Only 2 more feet to go today.

For re-attachment it is very important that you brace the hoe so it stays in pretty much the same position as when you took it off. I have learned that by propping in up with boards and making sure it does not "settle" makes re-attachment much much easier.

Hey guys here are those pics as promised. It came off so easy. It should go on the same, but been too busy with snow removal w/ back blade. It moves around better than I thought, even with the small casters, and brken concrete floor.
