Yeah, I agree with using the never-seize. I never really thought about that (with having the metal in it). I didn't have any copper anti-seize, but will pick some up tomorrow when I go to town for the next go around.
As for putting the seal in the freezer, I learned that from an elderly man. He does it to seals and bearings, and so do I. It works more easy when you install them, but you do have to be a little more careful.
