Is the bolt pointed out with the arrow my PTO shear bolt?

This is the PTO shaft for my snowblower. I want to get some spares to have on hand.

I don't think so. Somewhere back on your snowblower, look for a bolt that goes through the shaft.

I would like to withdraw my uninformed post. And I think I better go look my pto equipment over, I may have some shear bolts I'm not aware of.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I looked all over the snowblower itself and couldn't find anything that looked like a shear pin. This one on the PTO shaft looks to be the only one.

Dieselpower: interesting that your unit specifies grade 8 shear bolts. I would have guessed that a less hardened bolt would be used.

My blower is a Meteor brand, and unfortunately I don't have a manual for it.

You found the one for the PTO. Now look at the shaft that comes out of the gearbox and goes to the chain drive side that would drive your auger. There should be another one there by the smaller gear.

I see that they are only 5/16 bolts though..
