Backhoe Picked up my woods 90x bh.....few pics

hey everyone,

On friday I picked up my tractor with my new woods 90x backhoe. It has a hydraulic thumb, subframe, and hydraulic pto pump. At first I was concerned about unhooking it and having to put all the 3pt hitch stuff back on but it wasn't bad at all.

I didn't get to use it much this weekend but I did dig a few holes with it and it seems to have sufficient digging power. Taking the hoe off wasn't too bad and it probably only took 5 minutes or so. I'm sure putting it back on will be a little more involved with lining it up but overall I think I'll be very happy with it. Up until a month or so ago I had a small/old trackhoe and decided to get this bh to replace it. From my initial impressions I'ld say that it will be on the tractor quite a bit this year.

Thanks. I put up so many pics because I had several people ask for them because I had mentioned that I had it on order and apparently there aren't too many of them around with a hydraulic thumb. That's the main reason I went with woods.

Hi, that is a very neet digger you got there. What size tractor do you have it on? When you have the hyd. pump turning does it run smooth or wiggle and the wiggle increase as the RPM's speed up? I am using a PTO hyd. pump on a cutter
and it wiggles quite a bit.

Lee looks great! I'm glad you got it in orange, cause it won't match my blue.
Now for a couple of questions;
1. why go from a track hoe to a bh attachment?
2. track hoe is suppose to be better, more power, greater reach, more nimble.
I'm just torn in the cost between attachment, track, extend-a-hoes.
They all do the job with varing costs and time adjustments.
Oh, by the way was there any cost on the paint color, I'm always told green costs more so I stay with blue. I don't know about orange though.

My trackhoe was pretty old and got to the point where the undercarriage was going to have to be replaced. It was alot of maintenance and to be honest I didn't really want to keep it for the kind of work I have left. My hoe was a small one that had about 15' of digging depth. To me the term "better" when talking about equipment doesn't always mean that bigger is better. My work that is left is mostly in tight spaces so to me the "better" solution is this hoe because the trackhoe needed alot of room to swing and move around.

Re your hyd thumb foot control....

It seems to be on the left side. Is it an electrical switch controlling a
diverter, or is it a spool valve that you operate by moving your
left foot either left or right?

Very nice Lee. I'm hoping in the next year to get the same thing with the exception of the thumb. I have a grapple on my FEL bucket and don't see the need for two.

yeah it is on the left side but I don't know what kind of valve it is. I'm going to be out there this afternoon and I'll try to find out. For some reason I want to say it is a spool valve. You push one side to operate one way and the other side to go the other.
