Hey everyone,
Yesterday we spent the day with the dozer and my tractor with the bh attached clearing approx 4 acres of young pines and piling them up to be burned. This morning we woke up and I bush hogged the area to cut a remaining scrub brush/vines/small branches that were left laying around. Then I went to hook up my woods lr800 landscape rake. I bought the rake in January but today was my first time to use it. I went around the area and drug/cleaned up the area to get it ready for disking. It worked ok but not as well as I expected. While riding up to the barn I thought that I should try to use the hydraulics on the swing cylinder just to make sure it worked and as soon as I tried to swing the rake the place where the cylinder mounts to the frame broke. It appears to be a plate that mounts the cylinder to the frame is made of a cast steel bracket and it sure enough broke .........guess I'll be calling the dealer to see if they can help me get the parts to fix it. I wasn't doing anything wrong when it broke and hopefully the dealer will take care of me. I honestly was hoping for a little better job out of the rake......maybe it'll take a little more practice but I played with the gauge wheels and my hydraulic top link to try some different setups. My rake is a woods lr800 with gauge wheels and a cylinder to swing/twist it.
